For the most part, April's been pretty uneventful. Most of my priority has been on school, getting back into shape and saving up on cash, which has been going by smoothly for the most part. There's nothing to complain about, life's been sweet and continues to be blessed every single day.
Now as a requirement, freshmen are needed to contribute for a day of community service. Out of all of the options the one that stuck out the most was a day of clean up in my city. Now I'm all for giving opportunities to have others give back to the community, which is always a good thing, and I've always wanted to have plenty more options when it comes to helping out. Aside from this fact, I'd say it's pretty disappointing that most people that show up barely contribute at all. Seriously, if you show up to work actually do work instead of standing around or grabbing a bite to eat after less than an hour of cleaning up a street. You shouldn't really deserve the credit if all you did was roam back and forth at the same corner for an hour. I know that showing up in uniform makes a statement, but if you're going off representing our college, show a little dedication to make a real statement. I for one put an actual effort into what I was doing...It's not like I had a bag big large enough to be the size of several others or anything. Running the same streets every morning, noticing the vast amounts of litter everywhere and having a chance to do a little fixing up at home, I was glad to do it. You know for a fact I'm going to look more into giving back to my hometown.
It's really amazing that some groups take clean-up volunteers as a family ordeal.
Fortunately, I've been running back into the homie Angie after so long.
